Latest non-quilting project
 

A very dear friend of mine made me a "lap tray" with a picture frame and used cuttings from magazines to depict things that reminded her of me, our fun times together, my favorite things.....etc. I loved it so much I thought it would be a great thing to make as Christmas gifts for 2 friends on mine. I bought 2 unfinished frames so that I could paint them the color I wanted them. The pink one if for my friend that taught me how to quilt. The green one is for a mutual friend of the one the pink one if for and me. She crochets and knits for charities. The only thing I have left to do is add the handles.

Cajun...what a neat fun idea. Good for your friend to make it for you ....and good for you to make some for your friends as well. That is a neat lap tray.

Wow, that's really nice!

I've done these, but put a kitchen drawer pill on each end. They are also nice to put a wedding or graduation in it with a mat around it. I also have a couple that I put a set of my grantmother's embroidered scarved in. The glass shop is happy to gut an extra glass, if you want the space around whatever you are using to fill. It's a super gift idea!
