Let's have a Superbowl potluck!

Wow, can't believe no one has started a Quilting Board Superbowl potluck. Maybe everyone is busy in the kitchen. If so, we'll have leftovers tomorrow.

For the Superbowl potluck, I'm bringing gumbo. I made it yesterday so it should really be good today. ;)

What ya bringing?

HollyDav 02-05-2012 08:38 AM

I'm making chili, guacamole and salsa. DSL brings the hot wings, pigs in a blanket & a raw veggie plate for those of us that are going to try to eat something healthy. Gumbo made yesterday sounds great! Why didn't I think of that. Off to the kitchen for me. May the best team win! Cheers!

Peckish 02-05-2012 09:03 AM

I'm pouting because apparently we're not going to watch the superbowl. Hubby is refusing to watch since they're both east-coast teams and he doesn't care who wins. :( He is verrrrry disappointed in the 49ers.

SuzanneG 02-05-2012 09:15 AM

Twisted Quilter, I'll bring my world-famous (okay, they're only famous in my family, but they really do love them!), homemade, from scratch, super delicious chocolate chip cookies.

With my beloved Steelers not in the Super Bowl this year, I haven't decided who I'm rooting for yet. But I'm looking forward to the game anyway. May the best team win!:)

east side quilter 02-05-2012 10:20 AM

Im' bringing stuffed mushrooms and a chocalate cheese cake

Arleners 02-05-2012 10:43 AM

Make your own Pizzas here. Got the dough rising and pizza sauce, chopped onions, and peppers, olives, sausage, and cheese just waiting to be slapped together.

skowron5 02-05-2012 10:47 AM

BBQ meatballs. Don't know who I want to win. Since my Packers or Lions are not playing.

Twisted Quilter 02-05-2012 11:43 AM

Ooooh, homemade chocolate chip cookies. I could easily polish those off before the game...and cheesecake. I wish you guys would hurry up and get here! :p If DH gets back early, I'm going to make meatballs so we'll have a double batch.

Everything sounds so delicious!!

zennia 02-05-2012 11:48 AM

Being from Buffalo I am bringing Buffalo Chicken Wings and Mikes Lemonade,

donna thomas 02-05-2012 11:48 AM

chili, chickn wings, bbq babyback ribs brownies and potatoe salad....dd is bringing buffalo chicken dip...go Patriots

dd 02-05-2012 11:51 AM

My vegetable soup will be finished by then. I was also thinking of the 7 layer dip and torillas. Son wants meatballs. Daughter wants something healthy. I vote for chocolate chip cookies.
Actually, I think I'll just rotate thru everyone else houses today. Everyone else's dishes sound just great.
Have fun.

Teacup 02-05-2012 11:56 AM

I'm taking hot Buffalo Chicken Dip (I'm making it with low-fat ingredients), baked whole wheat crackers and raw veggies. Also a pan of cream cheese brownies so that DH can put on it a Chicago Bears helmet. Every year he takes a sheet cake or dessert with this same decoration, no matter who is playing...our hosts now expect it.

I'm leaving before the game is over to watch Downton Abbey with my DD...we've been doing this every Sunday for the past month and I'd rather spend that time with her than watch football.

sweet 02-05-2012 11:59 AM

I just made some taco meat and have deviled eggs on the way (extra spicy)!

suebee 02-05-2012 11:59 AM

We ordered Pizza (ahead of time...like friday), have some suguar cookies and whoppers!! Oh and chips and dip!LOL

Charlee 02-05-2012 12:06 PM

The spousal unit LOVES to cook, (YAY!) so he's making a basil stuffed grilled shrimp, "Smokie dogs",(Little Smokies wrapped in cresent roll pieces and baked) and my contribution is a bag of chips to go with his salsa! :D

Tink's Mom 02-05-2012 01:27 PM

I'm just going to start a batch of oatmeal cookies with cranberries. We will be have pickle rolls (salami or ham spread with cream cheese, pickle in the middle and roll up, slice into bite size pieces) salsa and tortilla chips. Not too sure what others are bringing.
(BTW, I'm rooting for the commercials)

Sheila_H 02-05-2012 02:08 PM

We are doing wings and then I'm doing ribs on the BBQ go Patriots!

Twisted Quilter 02-05-2012 02:28 PM

Ribs, wings, deviled eggs, and OMG cream cheese brownies! You guys really know how to make me
drool. ;)

sandybuttons 02-05-2012 03:31 PM

Shrimp dip and crackers yum :)

NancyG 02-05-2012 09:04 PM

Chili beans and herb foccacia bread......yum, yum. That is if we have any room left after eating kettle corn during the game!!

miriam 02-06-2012 03:44 AM

I'm all about left overs, I'll be over with a plate and a fork

kuntryquilter 02-06-2012 05:20 AM

We went to church, then took the Pastor & his wife out for a late dinner. Never even watched the ball game.

dd 02-06-2012 05:20 AM

Not much on football. The game was on but I didn't watch much of it. IMHO - the commercials did win. Halftime was - OK. Took hubby to Ruby Tuesday so he could have someone else to talk to. Waitress won $5.

Quilt-Till-U-Wilt 02-06-2012 07:01 AM

No big deal for us. Our Ravens didn't make it.

alwayslearning 02-06-2012 07:18 AM

I made Bobby Flay's coleslaw recipe. Really good. I just do not know who Bobby Flay is.

Twisted Quilter 02-06-2012 08:33 AM

Could someone pass me another cream cheese brownie! :o

dd 02-06-2012 02:05 PM

Take it easy on those cream cheese brownies or you'll need to start making larger quilt.

nancia 02-07-2012 12:17 AM

well, since i didn't see y'all till after the game was over and my team didn't even get to play (poor 'boys) i'm sitting here all alone eating my bag of oreos, if y'all want to bring your bag a cookies, i'll slide over and you can sit with me....

Twisted Quilter 02-07-2012 08:21 AM
