Lingerie Bridal Shower
 

Would love youir ideas for favors, decor, momentos. Using our teacup collection and lots of pale flowers and lace!

i avoid favors. I tend to toss them in the garbage at the first chance I get. They are usually cheap and knicknacks and I hate clutter. The ladies in my family usually make a donation to a worthy cause and that warm feeling of benevolence lasts longer than a favor. At my weddingWe donated to the American heart Association in memory of my grandfather; my grandmother and mother were incredibly moved by the gesture.

More info would help. Is it at a house or restaurant. Time of day and # of women attending. Younger or older bride?

I think shabby shiek (sp?).....lace, weathered frames, pearl strands, tons of silk cream colored roses and other flowers, sepia photos....

Shower will be at my house. I am surrogate MOB- Bride's Mom is in Fla. Wedding is at a lake, reception in converted barn. Styling is old lace, burlap & vintage tablecloths. Favors could be something like jam in a little mason jar. TY

Sounds like it is going to be wonderful. Dh and I got married in the back yard under the Walnut Trees. Keep everything simple, yet very nice. It was in Oct. the weather was GREAT. Everyone said they liked how laid back everything was! Wouldn't change a thing!...

One of my all time favorite favors from a very nice lingerie shower was a beautiful lace edged handkerchief. It was so pretty and I have used it so very many times since then. I keep it for when I am going to dressy affairs and carrying an evening purse or to a funeral where I always need one or more hankies.

A nice addition to the tea theme might be a mug rug in the bridal colors or just springy florals. Easy-peasy to do with charm squares, the 5 piece type. One charm RS up, a piece of batting, and then 4 contrasting charms, folded in 1/2, criss crossed on top. stitch 1/4" seam around the edge & turn and flip to have seam inside. I made a bunch for a baby shower in January and in less than an hour I had made more than 25, plenty to go around. They were a big hit and something that can be used each day with happy thoughts! Because each one is different, everyone feels special.

Great idea! I have a huge amount of floral scraps. I never made one of these but I will give it a try. How about a tutorial for us all?

My DD got married at Patti's 1880's Settlement just outside of Paducah, KY in their gazebo. It was a destination wedding - all we had to do is show up. At her bridal "tea" the day before the wedding, she presented all of the mothers, grandmothers, bridesmaids, a little box (cutsie boxes from the dollar store) and inside was an antique brooch - most really gaudy - but very nice - these were to be worn the next day at the wedding instead of a corsage. Very nice and no money wasted on throw away flowers. HTH

My niece gave homemade jam in a small mason jar as favors at her wedding reception (less than 100 people). They made a label for the lid that said "spread the love" and the wedding date. Another idea I thought was really cute at a friend's daughter's wedding shower they bought wine glasses at the dollar store and painted them with glass paint. Simple designs like poka dots, simple flowers. Everyone loved them and they weren't costly.

I have to keep up with this post. My granddaughter is getting married in Sept. and the reception will be a rustic one also. She'll enjoy seeing what you all post.

Spread the love- I love it! I made a mug rug & it came out great. Showed the gals in my weekly Bee today. We are all grateful for the good idea. The antique-ish jewelery is a great gift idea too. When my sister got married, the theme was vintage. A friend of the family gave her an old lace dress- which was remade into her wedding gown. I am trying to think of a simple craft we can do at the shower. No corny games. We will have the aunties and the NYC glam girls.

As for a shower craft, how about simple beaded bracelets made on elastic thread/wire? Have available a wide assortment of beads, then have each person begin their own bracelet with one or two beads. After a moment or two, tell everyone to pass their bracelet to the person to their right, who will add a bead or two. Continue until the bracelet makes it back to the original owner, who ties a double double knot in the elastic wire. All supplies are available at Michael's or JoAnn's or even at WalMart. It's a special memento that brings to mind not only the bride, but the women who surrounded her with their love & support. I did this a few years ago with some friends & cousins during a weekend getaway, and I smile every time I put that little bracelet on!

That's a sweet idea. I think I am going to have all the guests make a fabric collage flags with lace scraps,vintage cloth,
beads, ribbon roses etc. and string them into a garland. I think I can iron on interfacing on sheets of felt. Maybe spray the backing w plastic so messages can be inscribed. Have to try it out. Then the garland can be hung in the barn where they are having the reception. Anyone ever do anything like that?
