We use it to keep track of each other. We can tell when we are getting close to a destination, we can follow someone on vacation, or see where they are when we're trying to get in touch. And yes, to find your phone or iPad.

The rule for my teen granddaughter is she has to have the locator turned on if she wants her phone and bill paid and she always has to acknowledge every call/text from her parents immediately. I can see where the thief would have to grab and run. I haven't seen any younger person that didn't seem to have their phone attached to their body at all times.
