Time to quilt!

MadQuilter 02-26-2011 12:45 PM

Stay warm and dry and safe. I think rgbear has the right idea.

Sit tight - spring will come - here in New England we are going to get 3-4 inches of new snow. It just won't give up. My husband shoveled snow off garden area and dug up some parsnips - ground not frozen so when snow completely melts - Instant Spring!!

A very good time to quilt and read.

clem55 02-26-2011 02:14 PM

I noticed the roads are closed, so I wonder about emergency transportation. What do they do about that?

magpiefeather 02-26-2011 02:51 PM

I don't know! I think they put chains on or something.

greensleeves 02-26-2011 03:38 PM

I've only been in eastern and southern Montana in the summer and thought it was wonderful-I think I'll pass on the winters. :)

Rntraveler 02-26-2011 03:40 PM

I agree... put a pot of soup/chili on and quilt the time away...some ways lucky, some ways not..

I have only been to your beautiful state a few times - but just loved it. Looks so different from our farm land here. Hope you enjoyed your day despite the nasty weather.

p38flygirl 02-26-2011 08:26 PM

it was in the 70's down in Louisiana today...Beautiful to get out and do yard work...Perfect weather...

Calzo 02-27-2011 04:27 AM

Gabs 02-27-2011 05:33 AM

A wonderful day to rejoice in the Lord, eat potato soup...with cheese on top and quilt!

DirtyPaw 02-27-2011 06:19 AM

WOW. You appear to be snowed/iced in.

judy_68 02-27-2011 06:19 AM

Good day to stay home.

boxerlady 02-27-2011 06:32 AM

We stopped at the McDonalds in Cut Bank last summer on our way to Glacier. It's a beautiful area, but I don't think I could take the winters there. It was neat to look at the map and see where we travelled last summer and realize that most of those roads are closed now. Brrr. It's supposed to get in the low 70's here today.

Elliotsgreatgrandma 02-27-2011 07:34 AM

What do you do in winters like this? Do you have to stock up on food and necessities? How do you keep your water running? I am from the south and have never been to the great north west of the country. Can you tell us how it is in your area. I have heard that the ground splits from the cold. Hope you don't think that I am to nosie I am just curious because it is so different from Chattanooga, Tennessee

Thanks

Gail

My area is the same. Miles City, southeastern corner. Spring can't come soon enough for me.

I was born & raised in MT - live in MI now and we're getting the same gunk. However, tonight the weather man says it will rain. Bet that melts the 2 feet of snow in the backyard! By the way, Robinmg, I went to high school in MC -- and, Ann, my aunt taught in Lincoln. Love that state!

cheryl rearick 02-27-2011 06:10 PM

LOuisana is nice now come summer it is a swelter box lol, IF your on the gulf. Montana take good care of your self. It looks pretty dangerous out there. :) I remember Wyo. many years ago shut down on roads right and left with the powder snow twirling. lol

My hubby and I were in Kevin for a couple of months in late 1976 and went to church in Cut Bank in a beautiful old stone building.
