Does anyone have this pattern? I'd love to make some for the girls I made the quilts for. sizes 18 mo through 3T and for a 6 yr old

Let me look in my patterns bev, I might just have one of the sizes we could alter for the other sizes too.

You could take the halter, lay it flat and make your own pattern. Looks easy-peasy enough.

take a large bandanna and cut it in 1/2 diagonally. round out the corner that will be at the neck and bind it off. that's what i did when my daughter was small. the other thing i did to avoid binding was cut a rectangle long enough to go from underarm to underarm plus four inches. measure it from under the breast to the height that you want it to be. add in one inch top and bottom. sew in a casing, top and bottom. thread through with ribbon or pretty braided fabric strips, etc. tie one around the back and one around the neck. the fabric will gather up in front. it looks very cute and you don't need a pattern.
(should i copyright that? hehe) |
When I COULD wear halters, back just a few years ago....no comments please....I would take 2 bandanas, fold in half diagonally. Tie 2 ends together. Then wrap around me, tie at back, then the remaining 2 ends would tie around my neck. Of course there was some folding that went on to make it look just right, but it worked.

you could still do that. then we WOULD have comments.
