Looking for ideas!
I have just completed a lapquilt for my 30 something year old son in law. I am buying a book, a chunky mug and some “designer” tea to go in the package. Any other ideas that I could include? He is a stay at home dad to our precious Little E and I would like for him to feel appreciated.

Some extra-special cookies to enjoy with the tea, or perhaps a home-made cake?

Sounds nice! Maybe an arm chair caddy for the remote? I made a long one that goes under my recliner cushion, over the chair arm with a pocket on the end for the remote.

How kind of you to want to honour him in this special way.
First of all, for the quilt ... ... a label with your personal sentiments, about what he means to you for being a SAHD! Some other possibilities that keep with your theme ... * Mug rugs for that chunky mug! * Book cover and/or bookmark to go with the book? * Ditto on the cookies and cakes .... or other treats/snacks that are his secret loves? |
Popcorn packets?

If the family is within a decent distance, a coupon (or two) for child watching so that SIL could have a break or even maybe have a special time with DD.
|
Gift certificate for a night out (with the guys or with DD) ( - you 'd be the baby sitter)
Gift certificate for a massage? |
My first thought was a gift card to somewhere "out". He may be a stay at home dad but he is not at home all of the time!

The quilt alone will tell him how much he is respected and admired.

I think a hand written label along with the quilt would be awesome!!
|
Perhaps a quilted bookmark?
I think your gift sounds perfect. Watson |
I am all for including some cookies to go with his tea.
