I have the Janome 350 embroidery machine which I haven't used very much.
I want to embroider a name on some quilt borders. Should I begin with the middle letter and work outwards or just start with the first letter? Or does it matter?

i have a viking not a janome but when i do that i start at the beginning- i dont know how you would start in the middle and work out- the machine must embroider differently than mine- mine you program the embroidery in (or choose it from a disk) get the machine threaded- item to be embroidered hooped- touch the start button- and it starts where it wants to...i don't think i have a choice really---interesting question....

You must have larger hoops than I do. The largest one I have is 5x7. I wish I had an endless hoop but this machine can't use it.
I've taken a chance and begun already (with the center letter) while waiting for replies. Cross your fingers for me...lol

I would think you could if you are doing each letter as an individual unit, would just have to make sure they are aligned correctly and don't overlap.

I have 2 letters done (both same letter). I think the 3rd one will be the one that "makes it or breaks it". I have to leave for a few hours (Dr. appt) so I'll try again later.
