Machine Embroidery thread

1 Attachment(s)
I know there are several people who have embroidery machines.

In the past I have TRIED to use metallic threads only to have way
to many problems with it an d gave up. Today however I bought some
of the Floriani Premium Metallic thread and WOW is it some AWESOME
stuff to work with. I am on my third bookmark and only had 1 thread
break.

Though the lack of thread breaks could be due to the fact that I
am switched to using a TOP STITCH 90/14 needle (as recommended by my dealer).

I intend to buy ALL the colors in metallic they offer.
Here is a design that is semi-finished (still on the machine in the hoop).

Those are really nice and remind me that I have some free standing lace designs that need stitching out. I've not did anything for awhile and need to get back to the embroidery machine.

Beautiful.

Those are beautiful!! Floriani does make good products, just a little to $$ for my budget.

The top stitch needle is always a good answer for embroidery. I have switched to it many times when a thread is being a PITA.

Yes it IS rather costly. But experience has taught me that when it comes
metallics that Floriani is the better deal.
The previous brand of metallics I used I spent more time threading the
machine and wasting the thread than I did in obtaining a completed design.

Of course I only bought 2 spools of the metallic today red and green. But
I think once a month I am going to squeeze out enough money to buy one
spool until I have all the metallic colors which is only 16. So I have 14 to
go.
With Christmas coming up maybe I can put that on my wish list that our
family does.

I have found that if I use the 90/14 needle and turn the speed down on my machine to 400-500 I never break a thread no matter what brand I use

I went to the Houston Quilt show and got a new Martelli Kwik Spinner thread holder! Haven't got it on the machine (Bernina 830) but I sure hope this thing fixes a bunch of problems I have had with my thread! I will try it tomorrow and let you know!
