So far I've had mostly positive experiences with USPS.

I've mailed fabric in manila envelopes with no hassle, and so far they've reached their destinations.

(I do put the fabric in a plastic bag with a card with From and To in the bag before putting it in the manila envelope - Just in case.)

Have any of you had issues using manila envelopes to mail fabric?

I've never had problem with it. It has always gotten there for me as well.

Had no problems at all. Send scraps to my sister this way all the time.

I think it's pure luck as I have had the USPS padded envelopes that they sell arrive totally torn open. I have used many manilla envelopes & no problems so far.

I have kinda plastic-y envelopes I use when it's too little for a FRE. I always ziplock it in a FRE just to make sure.

I use the white tyvek envelopes. They have some that are the size of a manila envelope and then others that have a pleat for extra thick items. I like them because they are very lightweight and super strong.

I have used manila envelopes in the past but I have found some of the thick manila envelopes can add an ounce or more to the weight so I changed to tyvek.

I agree, tyvek is great.

I host swaps and the manilla envelopes do not hold up very well.. Ive had more problems with that than all the rest. They look like they went thru he!! and back.. Most are torn, and Ive lost the entire contents of one so far sent to me- And no the contents were never found. I do not recommended them for my swaps, however i do request that if any of my swappers choose to send in those envelopes please use packing tape and 't' the envelope with the tape, Make sure contents are in a plastic baggie marked with mailing addy- To and from.
