Making an apron from a shirt

Martingale has a free pattern download on how to make an apron from a man's shirt. I have made several of these aprons, as they are great to give to a man for a gift and they also sell well at craft shows. Here is the website:

They are fun to make and a good use of a shirt that is no longer needed.

Just an aside, you can also take a man's shirt and make a nice cobbler's apron by taking off the sleeves and using the bottom 6-8 inches from the cuff up to make nice large pockets on the apron. Then you can also get a contrasting color to bind around the pocket and bind around the sleeve opening. It comes out looking very professional.
