making your bed

Do you make your bed every morning? Growing up, one rule mom had was that we HAD to make our bed every morning before leaving for school. I still make my bed every morning.

How else can we enjoy looking at our quilts?

I straighten my bed every morning. If you mean completely strip and remake, no.

Yes, as so as DH and I get up, the bed is made and the decor. pillows laid on top.

*** I make/straighten it up when the cat will get out of it.

*** I hate wrinkles under my butt when I go to bed.

Just got done a little late but done. One thing people don't realize is by making the bed it keeps it cooler to crawl into in warmer months. Also keeps dust from sheets which minimizes any dust mites. I am curious how many use mattress pads. I have never gone without one. Even growing up my mother had some kind of cover to protect the mattress. Often an oil cloth to prevent the younger ones from wetting accidents. Every bed in the house had a protective covering. Growing up we had to make the bed before we got dressed and had breakfast.

Nope - my bed is never made unless I change the sheets. It is in a room that the door is closed at all times and nobody knows but me. DH has his own room and does not make his bed either - a complete waste of time as far as I am concerned.

Make the bed everyday and have always used a mattress on all beds....use pillow covers also....

Yes, I do, but never required my children to make their's. I decided to pick my battles. When the rest of my day has become unraveled, at least there is order on my bed.

I make my bed every morning. And I use a cushiony matress pad. When I was growing up we couldn't come to breakfast unless we were dressed and our bed was made. My stepfather was in the army, and more than once I came home to find my matress flipped into the floor because my bed wasn't made right. Hospital corners had to be just right and the bed needed to be made so tight you could flip a quarter on it! I loathe bedspreads to this day and prefer comforters/quilts and pillow shams.
