That was so cool! I remember when I went to SeaWorld with my daughter, son-in-law and GKids that they would come right up to the glass to us. They are so cool to watch! Thanks Ditter!

I love manatees. It started in 1st grade when my school change from Mort Mustangs to Mort Manatees. Then in 3rd we adopted a manatee at Homosassa Springs his name was Shane

Beautiful creatures

I got to swim with the dolphin when we were in HI earlier this year...

Swimming with manatees is definitely my next "to do"...

All the years we fished Florida water ways I never saw a Manatee in the water. Snakes, turtles, fish, and lots of Gators.

I can't get the video to play.
A couple of years ago I was at the Sebastian Inlet Florida with the grand kids. A whole bunch (Pod/group ?) of manatees came in and swam with US! There were about 15 of them and they came in through the inlet between the ocean and the river. This area is about 4-5 foot deep and bowl shaped and it was high tide. They just swam around the people standing there. They are so huge and didn't run into anyone. Their backs are scarred by the many hits with boat propellers. It is against the law to interfere with them in any way. No touch, no feed etc. We were so excited we didn't even think to get pictures!
It is a wonderful memory for me.
I also happen to live on Manatee Court! LOL

I have also seen them once in a while in the Indian River when I was sailing and we have a lot of coves in the river where they spend the winter. They really are gentle giants and down right ugly but fascinating.
:-D
