Market on the move
For those in AZ check out Market on the move. Don't know if it is all over the US but I just got 60 pounds of fruits and veggies for $10.00 most of it organic!

Market on the move showed up here in Casa Grande in March, April and May. March was the best cause they had eggplant. Made lots of eggplant parm and froze for quick dinners. Butternit squash and roma tomatoes were on my hit list.
I sure hope they come back here after the summer. Kathy in Casa Grande Az

No Market on the Move here in NY! But I read up on it and it's a great concept: those who can afford to buy ($10) to share with others who are having difficulty feeding their families. Nice idea! I'm glad to see we have members on the board helping others with their grocery items. God Bless.

The food at those places is for the needy. Whether they have someone like me, who probably has a car and can afford the $10 and can deliver the food to those who need it, or someone in need who can pick it up themselves and can afford the $10 or not. I am not admonishing anyone or putting anyone down, I am just saying to check it out. I went to a place like this last winter (spend winters near Phoenix) and I asked if I was eligible and they told me no, I didn't qualify. What I read is that what is left over then is sent to a food bank. From there, I don't know where an left might go. Maybe, if it goes to a landfill, they wouldn't mind if I were to get some. I do know it comes from Nogales, Mexico but is inspected by the US.
