Masks
This thread is for the discussion of masks and only masks.... pictures, patterns, sourcing, etc. There will be no discussion of wearing or not wearing them. And there will be no discussion of Covid19. Thanks for your cooperation.

These are some of the masks I have made. I'm closing in on 500. I've tried all different patterns.

I haven't taken pictures but I use the Olsen pattern. I use it at 100% for adults. I reduced it to 95% for my granddaughter who it 10 and it works really well for her and depending on how much you turn under on the end for the elastic, you can make it even smaller by turning more under and also sewing more than 1/4 inch seam. i also enlarged it to 110% for bigger people, especially guys with beards like my son. I can cut and sew one in about 30 minutes (probably quicker if I really wanted to). I usually cut 10-12 and sew them and then start another bunch. Right now our Quilt Guild has had a request to make them for the kids coming back to school, especially for the kids in the CASA (foster care) who will probably not have access to them.

I prefer the shaped versions with a wire or metal insert over the nose. I was using the Sweet Red Poppy pattern which comes in 5 sizes. Recently bought the Creative Grids Ruler/Template which is similar and fits well.

I saw the Creative grid ruler and thought it would be great for rotary cutting several at once. Let us know how it works.

I just made myself a new mask using a 3D pattern. I find it more comfortable that the pleated or fitted style. And it goes together quickly.

500 Wow. You are awesome. Great Job 👍 (500 one thumb for each mask)

I looked up the 3D mask pattern and think I might like that one. Thanks for mentioning it.

I’ve tried several patterns. Made mostly the pleated version as no template was required and it was quicker to cut and sew than the fitted ones. I recently tried a couple of new to me versions that I like. Here’s a 3-D one that I made. I found it to be as quick and easy to make as the pleated ones and I like the way it fits.

We have been using masks that we purchased from Sams Club, but since it looks like this is going to be the normal wear for a while, I'm going to try the 3D mask pattern,
