Maybe He Wants to Learn to Sew

I was doing some hand work in the sewing room when I was home for lunch the other day and Scooter decided to take a nap under my sewing machine table. It's a good thing I unplug my machine when I'm not using it!

The foot control is just the right height and angle for a good nap!

We owned a big fat weiner dog and he always liked to lay at my feet. One day I was sewing away and stopped for a minute to do some pinning and the machine took off by itself and I discovered him laying on the footfeed. What a shock that was. He was insulted when I insisted that he move.

This one is part dachshund and we think part lab. lol. He does act really annoyed when I make him move so I can sew.

I love the things my Chuck comes up with to use as a pillow, of course his favorite is a quilt squished up just right.

My 2 do the same thing if I'm not in my room. Reason my machines arenever plugged in when I'm not in there.

What a big sweet baby. Mine like to play under my table on top of my feet in the middle of sewing. Ggrrr!

Aww precious.. My foster cat sits there and watches the needle go up and down. I am waiting for him to try to catch it one day !YIKES !!!! that will not be good .. so far he just watches ... He can go on the opposite side and plays with the spool thread .. LOL
My avatar I swear just sits there and rolls her eyes then lays down and takes a nappy !LOL

It's for this very reason (3 Boxers & my grand dog Jack Russell) that I make sure I turn off my machine when I walk away from it lol

nwm50 07-10-2014 04:27 AM

Just using as a headrest......lol

EmiliasNana 07-10-2014 05:11 AM

Can't blame him..............it's out of the way and still and the same room as his owner. Love it.

He does feel its his duty to keep track of his humans. On weekends when we are both home, he lays on the landing where the stairway turns so he can keep an eye on me upstairs in my sewing room and my husband downstairs. He's a sweetie.

Pretty, pretty dog. I love him. We have a grandog that likes to get in my sewing room and get hold of my fabric, so when she comes over to visit, I have to lock the doors.ha.

ManiacQuilter2 07-10-2014 06:07 AM

He has good taste using a Bernina foot for a pillow !!!

When he was a puppy, he chewed several spools of thread. I still have one on the wall as a reminder. lol

So cute, he's guarding your sewing machine for you, either that or he wants to help you quilt. Thanks for sharing, he's a beautiful dog.

decky 07-10-2014 04:57 PM

Cute picture, but I bet he would really like a pillow for his head.
