If you peer into the dark interior you'll see me with my Mazie munchkin.
It took may attempts, many "almost there"s, and numerous breaks, but she made it!

She spent the first third of the time being on full alert....

The next third investigating her new surroundings, for example tasting the seats, chewing on a CD case, pawing the cargo liner, and sniffing the floor.

And the last third diving into the snack available.

When I decided she'd had enough--about 20-30 min--I asked her to step out and she proceeded daintily and cautiously down the ramp. Perfect. :D :D :D :D

The next step, for another day, is to go for a short ride. I'll be holding her, while Mark drives.

Your Mazie munchkin looks so sweet.

Karla that reminds me of a kids TV series I saw when I was a kid called 'Horse in the House' where a girl taught her horse (not a mini!) to live in the house. There must be a joke in there somewhere like 'how many mini horses can you fit in a car?'

She looks so cute! And it's a testament to her trust in you that she'll settle in there. :D

Karla, the Mazie Mobile is just too cool!

There is nothing I would like better than to join you and
Mazie on one of your visits!

(Of course, nothing pleases me more than seeing my two adorable
black Labs sitting up in the back seat of our car. Like your horses,
they are so spoiled. They even get hamburgers if we travel and
stop for lunch......hold the onions, please.)

Karla, She is going to be Amazing! Pretty soon she will come running everytime that you pick up the car keys like a little doggie I know.....

Such great pics! :)

But doesn't she need a carseat because of her age? lol

fluffbug95 10-11-2009 05:48 PM

Yay Mazie!!! :D The Mazie Mobile is awesome! I love it! :)

She is so adorable! This reminds me of a story my father told, when I was a little girl, about a man who lived in our town and owned a pony. (no miniatures back then - but this was probably a Shetland) He had an old car with the seats taken out, except for the driver's side of course, and he and the pony went to the drive-in movies together on a regular basis. I don't know whether the pony watched the movie or not.

Yep!!! Pretty soon she will be throwing fits when you drive off without her    She looks very comfy in her new Mazie Moblie 8) 8) 8)

Mazie is SO cute! I laughed out loud at the shot of her nosing the car seat. All I could think of was "Oh great! Pony drool!" ROFLMBO

Thanks for sharing. Your photos always make my heart sing!

How sweet! My dogs LOVE riging in my van, with the seats in. They really do not like me to go anywhere without them.

barnbum 10-18-2009 12:20 PM

Update--Mazie's been in the van three times now and today we took her for a ride!! :D We drove two miles to my dad's place and stopped for a bit. I didn't get her out because we need to buy a strap to secure the ramp in the van--just to be safe--so the ramp didn't come. She was quite interested in the scenery. :D We drove the long way home--under 5 minutes. She pooped twice--and the first time, since she was standing sideways, it went off the cargo liner, so it's not fool proof--catch proof? I'm going to take the dog scooper when we go. When we pulled in the driveway, she saw the all the others sunbathing and whinnied loudly. But, when I got her out and back to the barn, she wasn't in a hurry to get in with them. Good sign! We go to Quail Summit on the 25th of Nov. We'll practice several more times before then. I also want to bring her into the house. :D

Oh--Gypsy fits perfectly fine in the van, too. It's much taller in there than our last one. She never hesitated to climb up and in. I considered taking both girls to QS for the first visit, but I'm worried about them tangling leads in there and they'd not be able to stand sideways for the best balance--so I'm going to keep it simple for now. My daughter will be home from college, so she'll be coming. She's the best help I have! :D

Have you considered a diaper, Karla?

sharon b 10-21-2009 08:13 PM

Just found this , but glad I did ! What a cutie    And like the others said , soon you won't be able to leave home without her
