Did anyone else see the little ads under some of the messages?
I saw it twice on the Mare Stare thread. It was about some blocks. Said CLICK HERE. Now it's gone. I know I"m a bit on the crazy side.......but..........

leona07 04-20-2009 03:30 PM

I've seen them too!!

Maride 04-20-2009 03:30 PM

I saw it and it took me here:

http://www.quiltedparadise.com/n/977-owz.jsp

peaceandjoy 04-20-2009 03:33 PM

Lol, you aren't crazy, unless I am too - and no matter what my family says, I know I'm not...

I saw it too, Click here - and discover Boston Blocks, a new piecing technique. I didn't click on it - too leery - but just checked and still get it under threads in the main category.

peaceandjoy 04-20-2009 03:33 PM

And in fact, now I get one under the original posting in this thread!

patricej 04-20-2009 03:38 PM

there's nothing to be afraid of. Rhonda, one of our members wrote an e-book. she has partnered with Admin so he can promote it for her here at the board.

tlrnhi 04-20-2009 03:39 PM

Oh, ok. Was wondering what was going on. Scared me a bit....thought maybe gremlins were starting to take over or something. :)

ButtercreamCakeArtist 04-20-2009 03:40 PM

No, it isn't only you. There are some right under your first post of this thread blinking away. I wonder what that's all about.

sewhappy57 04-20-2009 03:42 PM

Hey Terri your not crazy (well not to much) Hehe
It's a book on line about making blocks a new method, by Rhonda from the board. You have to buy it then download it. Your offered a special price to but it now before the public is offered it. So................I could'nt resist I ordered it right up. Only had a chance to glance through it but looks very easy, new and lots of pictures. Very east to download I'm not a computer person and I did it in only a minute. I'm happy about it! Terry

Admin 04-20-2009 03:43 PM

Yep, the announcement is going to be made on Wednesday.

This is the first time a member of this message board made an e-book that's going to be promoted on the board itself.

I've run promos for other e-books before, but never for our own user.

Very exciting :)

tlrnhi 04-20-2009 03:47 PM

I'm just glad I'm not going crazier! lol

WOOHOO!! WTG RHONDA!!!

Admin 04-20-2009 03:54 PM

sewhappy57, if you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to ask Rhonda.

I talked to her, and she said she would be happy to help out with anything.
We are going to set up a dedicated topic for support, but you can also PM her.

Oh, and thank you for your order! :)

sewhappy57 04-20-2009 04:02 PM

Thanks!
It was VERY easy! Can't wait to be able to really be check it all out.   Kudos to the Admin. and Rhonda!

Rhonda 04-20-2009 04:11 PM

Sorry if it startled anyone! I didn't know it had started yet!

I have mentioned the EBook to a couple of people but was waiting for it to be done to say too much.

I did a tutorial on the Bookmarks and in that tutorial I showed how to make "Boston Blocks" with my cut down method.

Well everyone liked the bookmarks so well that I decided to write an EBook that expands on that process and includes another project.

I will do a thread on this so if you want to ask anything I can answer.

And yes thank you for the orders! I appreciate that anyone is interested in learning what I have to offer! And the E-Book includes a free template if you need one. Just email me!

I will still be doing tutorials for the Newsletter. Should have more soon.

I clicked and loved what I saw, but on dial up and don't know if it will work for me.

Machel 04-20-2009 04:58 PM

Barb M 04-21-2009 12:53 AM

I think it's wonderful Rhonda, congratulations! :) Oh it would be nice if admin could change the ads to non blinking and flashing ones, maybe it's just me but every blink makes me just about jump outta my seat lol, really stressful to look at the forum pages with the blinking, instead of relaxing, but i just love looking at your blocks, so many good ideas

Admin 04-21-2009 01:19 AM

Barb, the ad at the top (after first posts) is only for the initial promotion. It will be gone in a couple of days.

Barb M 04-21-2009 01:24 AM

Thank you, it was just the blinking throwing me off, thanks, sorry its a problem for me, you do the forum so awesome

Admin 04-21-2009 01:34 AM

I wrote this in the PM, and I'm going to repost it here, since other people might be interested as well.

I'm going to take that ad down in a bit.

I just need it to grab as much attention as possible to make sure everyone on the board is aware about the release of the e-book and about the introductory discount price.

The rationale here is simple: the more noticeable the ad, the less is the amount of time it needs to run.

So using a more subtle ad would require me to run it for a much longer period of time, which is something I don't want to do.
So everyone, please bear with it for a few days.

The newsletter announcement about this e-book comes out on Wednesday, and the ad on the message board will be taken off on Thursday evening.

key4unc 04-21-2009 02:34 AM

I was wondering the same thing. I took my computer in for an optimization and some sites aren't working the way they used to. So I thought it was just me.

Bevanger 04-21-2009 06:45 AM

Yes, they say something about wanting to learn to do the blocks. I figured it must be something new that was added

Bevanger 04-21-2009 06:46 AM
