My Mom had a fur cape and some time after she passed, I had the cape made into teddy bears. The fur wasn't anything fancy, probably muskrat! There was enough fur for a bear for each of my three children and one for me, too. I was pleased with mine but my kids said told me that it would be okay if I kept their bear for them. Regardless, I thought it was a good idea!

I have made many teddy bears, gave them all away to family or charity sales. I have used all different types of fur, even sheep fleece like stuff. I called them Bear in Sheep's Clothing. :wink:
I only have one left right now because he needs his head and ears sewn on. I made so many of them that I had templates of the pattern pieces cut out of plexiglass. I still have them. It was a purchased pattern and I made patterns for clothes, overalls for the boys and a dress for the girls. |
