I made a small one with 4 rooms and loved doing it so I bought a bigger one. It's partly together but since I found quilting I just can't get back to it. It's so time consuming. I got sample books of wallpaper to use for the walls. There was a dollhouse group on Yahoo and they had great ideas. I made a leather purse and the living room furniture. I bought unfinished hutches from the $ store. I was planning on taking the tops off and using them for kitchen cabinets but I never got that far. It's a great hobby and you can be so creative. Have fun.

I made a huge doll house years ago. We actually knocked out a half wall to be able to display it. I made all the furniture, petipointed all the rugs. Made all the curtains, bedspreads, flower beds, even made railroad ties out of balsa wood that my son and I burned the wood lightly. I had run out of craft ideas for my own home, so started doing all the crafts for this house. Where ever we visited I tried to find something I could bring home and make into something special. The value was between $10,000-$15,000. But when my X-husband and I divorces, he wouldn't let me bring it with me. He thought I was going to pawn it. lol, so he was then stuck with it and ended up donating it to a hospital. So at least someone can see it, and he doesn't have it either. It was way to big for the homes I lived in after we divorced. And really hard to move.
