My DD thinks I need to get out of mom jeans. I have a couple pairs of low rise ones to wear when she is around and have hidden my mom jeans to wear the rest of the time!

I loved hip-huggers when I was a teen, but today's "low-rise" jeans are just too low for my taste, even when the kids wear them. IMO it gives them an odd shape.
At my age and weight, I wouldn't even wear hip-huggers, if they were still around. My jeans tend to come to my belly button or waist, depending on the pair. |

I like the Levi's 512 too. DD approves of these, because they do not have any elastic in the waistband.
Someday she too will understand WHY elastic waistbands are nice! I found out when wearing maternity clothes many years ago... |
I hate the low rise stuff too.

This is funny. My 17 yr old boy, told me that my jeans were granny pants. I asked why and he said because they covered my belly button. I laughed and told him that I was over 40 and a mom and his reply was we're going shopping cause you don't look that old. Not sure if it was a compliment or not. But I did find a pair that were still modest. No plumbers crack or thong showing here.

I love my mom jeans. They drive my sisters nuts but I think they look far better than a "muffin top" spilling out over the sides of your pants. Wear what you want.
