Were in Alabama are you? I live just outside of Tuscaloosa. I would love to find some people to get together here for a retreat or something.

I am also near Birmingham. You should drive to Birmingham and meet with our quilt (Birmingham Quilter Guild), we meet on the second Monday of each month. We have lots going on and you can visit one day for free and join if you like what you see. We meet at the Homewood Senior Center just off Oxmoor off I65 South.

I have not been to Gulf Shores in several years, but a restaurant in Foley called The Gift Horse used to be excellent.

SewBernina in Montgomery has some quilting fabrics & has quilting classes. It is at 51 Burbank Dr, just off the Atlanta Hwy, near Eastdale Mall.

You need to stop at Fabrics by the Pound in Summerdale, just past Robertsdale. He carries a lot of quilting fabrics now, and it is worth the stop. It is right on 59 where you will be coming into town. Ditto on A&E in Pensacola, they have the most fabric!

My DH loves Uncle Mike's in downtown Prattville.

Here in Roseville people would just die to spend a few nights at Lamberts Home. It use to be the going place but now we have several more mortuaries and it's not so popular. lol

S.E.A Quilts is a neat shop. Its located in the owners basement but don’t let the outside fool you it’s a nice shop. As far as food Desoto’s in Gulf Shores has great seafood. King Neptune’s has wonderful corn crab bisque and out of this world Fried cheesecake... yes, I meant fried cheesecake. It has a warm praline sauce on it and it is wonderful.
If you like Bluegrass music "The Pass" in Pensacola has great food and music. Have fun and good food, Dawn

The shop is on Cotton Creek Road, which is County Road
4. Call ahead to get directions (251-968-7327), as the shop is in a private
Home 2.2 miles from the main highway into Gulf Shores (U.S. 59). If you leave Orange Beach and take the bypass back towards Foley you will have to go past the road which will be on your left and double back to make the turn.
Wishing you great food and and great time. Dawn
