No quilting, but I had a great weekend sewing these outfits and knitting the shrug for my baby granddaughters. I have another identical shrug in cream cotton, nearly done. Hope this inspires you to sew for babies! So much fun.

Cute outfits and babies!
Darling summer rompers/sun hats/shrugs - oh, and those beautiful babies! If I had those two I'd be sewing up a storm, too! How very fun it must be :)
Beautiful babies! The little outfits will be cute as can be on them!
Both babies and outfits are just darling!
That brings back so many memories of sewing for my girls. I even hand sewed a few before I got a machine.
beautiful babies, darling clothes !
My, how both Millie and Ivy have grown! I love their adorable smiles!!
Such cute rompers, hats and shrug! I love the fabrics you used. They must be the best dressed babies of the year! :D Do you use snap tape for the bottom snaps on the rompers, or do you put in each snap individually? I've always wanted to make rompers and probably will this year, since I'm having a summer baby this time. |
Hi Cathy! I used snap tape on these two... I have the pliers and snaps to do them individually, but they seem to pull of the fabric too often, and I didn't want to risk that happening when the babies needed to use them. The snap tape is kind of pricey, so I used a 50% off coupon at JoAnns. I was just about to look online for a better supplier.
The short rompers are fun too. |
Love, love the rompers...and Millie & Ivy. With a talented grandmother like you, they will be the best dressed little girls. Thank you for show and tell.
So very cute....love the rompers and matching hats!!
Darling baby clothes!

Ohhh so cute!!! And thanks for the info on the patterns.
Is is my imagination or do they look a lot alike? They are both so beautiful! Your skills are very impressive! :) |

Adorable babies and adorable baby clothes. They will be the best dressed little girls. Love their sweet smiles. You must be excited to see them wear those outfits too.
Oh! my! I want one of those shrugs! What a sweet pattern and your knitting is superb! You've got the blue/green print so nicely centered on the bodice. Well done! I like your choice of plain colored interfacing. Great pictures of the little ones. :-)
Fun projects for 2 beautiful little girls.
These are going to be the best dressed girls in the USA! Lovely and delightful, B.
What darling babies. They're smiling because they saw the beautiful little outfits.
Oh those are so cute! and the matching hats!! Made me smile big time!
Thanks everyone! I'm having a blast being a grandma! :p
Darling outfits and oh so cute cotton shrug. I looked up the knit pattern. Can you tell me the cost of the pattern. It was in Euros. Did you find the pattern beginner friendly. I have only knit blankets. thank you!
Copycat, the pattern is $6.75 at LoveKnitting.com.
It is an intermediate pattern, not really beginner friendly. The hardest stitches in it are M1R and M1L... make one right and make one left. These make right or left leaning increases, to follow the raglan lines of the sweater. If you are a determined beginner, you can look up YouTube videos to show you how to do these stitches. |
Adorable outfits. The fabrics are so pretty and those babies are so beautiful. You did a beautiful job on the rompers.

SBG- do they look alike or is it just me???
SusieQ... they are cousins. Both look primarily like their daddies, who are in-laws. They don't look that much alike to me, except to both have the baby chubby cheeks and chins. They are both beautiful little girls, each in their own way.
They sure are!! :)
