OK... since you insisted... the 1st picture is the one the rescue group sent me that made me fall in love with my guy. The second is Leo, sleeping on his Bronco blanket (I thought him having his own blanket would keep him off my quilts but you can see how well that worked out... LOL!).

DOG LOVER here!

barri1 06-17-2012 03:27 AM

Wish I had a pal for my guy.. That is so nice.. My guy doesn't fall asleep unless he has a stuffed friend.. he has a beaver that he takes very good care of.. It's funny watching him lick the beaver, and groom him, and then fall asleep with it under his chin..

I have five dogs. Note to all, that is TOO MANY! But....all are rescues. They are so cute when they all get on my bed at the same time and then get settled....a head on somebody's tummy, an arm over somebody's face, feet touching another pup or me....everybody has to be touching at least one other pup.....an overload of adorableness. Oh---and these are not dacshunds and chihuahuas....a total of about 185 lbs of doggie here. Two pits, a german shepherd, a beagle and an australian shepherd. Sometimes there's not really room for me on the bed.

We have 1 dog (pitbull/boxer mix) and a cat. The dog and the cat will sleep together. Usually on the bed, then Bob and I try to get into bed. Makes it nice and cozy in the winter time, a little on the warm side in the summer time.

Here are my three canine fur-children:

They range in age from about 2.5 - 11 years old, and are conveniently arranged by age & size - the littlest is the youngest and the Lab there is our old lady. All three are mutts, and are either rescues or neighborhood dog offspring. We have 2 cats also, and all five cohabit nicely. We sure do go through a lot of lint rollers in this household, though!! LOL

That's too funny! Leo is death on his toys. But after they're shredded, then he really likes them... LOL! He has the carcass of a moo cow that's his favorite. Aren't they funny?

Thank you so much. You just can't imagine how much joy he's brought to our lives. How someone could just discard anyone as sweet as my boy is just beyond me. But, their loss is my gain!

Too funny! Eons ago I had a Great Dane who looked just like that one. His name? Sherman... as in tank... as in he was BIGGER than one! A friend had gotten hiim & he was fine as a puppy but as he grew bigger & bigger, their affection for him grew smaller & smaller so I took him. I'm a softie (but shhhh... don't tell anyone. I like to pretend I'm a tough chick... LOL! And that works till people hear me talk baby talk to Leo).

Like somebody else said, they're nice and warm in winter, hot in summer. Hot lasts a long time in Atlanta, too. They're sweet and we only do this for naps; they sleep in cozy crates in the kitchen for nighttimes. (They know "Time to go to bed" and they all love their beds....the crates have orthopedic soft and squishy mattresses.)

Oh, it's just sooooooooo cute!!!!!

I have 4 dogs, 2 of them destroy their toys and carry part of them to bed.
The golden retriever is Molly, lab mix is Terra, the Westie is Annie and poodle mix is Mr.Choop; the only male in pack. They all get along very well and everyone was mostly
well trained when we got them. Mr. Choop had to learn a bit of manners, the girls have taught him that excessive sniffing of them is a bad thing.
Molly was left behind when her owners moved away, she had stage 2 heart worm infestation and a mere 50#; 2 years later she is a healthy 80# and heart worm free. Annie was a runaway and also very skinny and nearly hairless when we found her, didn't realize she was a Westie until she started to gain some weight and her fur grew back. Terra was a puppy born at the local ASPCA shelter from a litter of 8. Mr.Choop is my DS' dog and the youngest. Terra is 10,Annie is 8, Molly is 6 and Choop is 4.
