Moving to Seabrook Texas area

Well my husband and I have decided to move closer to family. We moved to Missouri 37 years ago with the Air Force. When he got out of the service we stayed since we had jobs. Raised our 4 children and they all moved away. Our middle son has asked us to move near him and his family. First get the house ready to sell, pack our belongings to include memories and head south. Is there any one on the board that can let me know if there is any quilting guilds in the Seabrook area? He is actually in El Lago. Well I will get sorting, getting rid of and packing Thanks for any information.

I know you aren't here yet, but Welcome to our Great State. I have no clue about a quilting guild there, as I live completely across the state from the Seabrook area. Moving is a difficult thing, especially when you've been in an area for so long and raised your family there. Lots of friends and memories, but there is always new memories and friends to make.

don't know about guilds but you'll have lots of quilt stores within 45 min drive!

Welcome to Texas! Think how close you will be to the Houston Quilt Festival!!!!! It will be about 45 minutes away.

Good for you! I really respect my friends who have moved to be closer to family. My aunt moved from Midland to the Gulf coast to be closer to her family. She had lived in Midland for 40 years. It was a little tough for her, but the support of family is irreplaceable.

I don't know about the guilds, but I love the quilt shop Painted Pony in La Porte!! I go with my friend from League City when I get down that way sometimes. I live in the Fort Worth area, but welcome to TX.

Welcome to the Gulf Coast of Texas. I live in the area and work for a prestigious yacht club in Seabrook. This is a really remarkable area, since we are close to Galveston and Houston. The Quilt Festival is fabulous and there are many local quilt shops just waiting to be explored. Lakeview Quilters Guild is a large guild and has many wonderful activities and some members who are well known in the quilting world. When you get settle in, post again and perhaps we can get meet at the Guild meeting.

Be sure to check out Painted Pony in Laporte, TX.

Website www.ppnq.com.

They have classes, several guilds that meet there and a very large selection of fabric.

They sell and service Janome sewing machines.

The staff is wonderful to help in any way needed. My favorite store by far!
