I sew; I can crochet, knit, embroider. I tried tatting and beading, but I have no patience for it.
I'm currently plotting out the next set of baby shoes for a friend. Found the pattern; now to figure out how to put it together. It's just a picture from an old Godey (19th Cent fashion magazine) |
I did embroidery for years, then counted cross stitch. Just last night I picked up a XS WIP that I laid down a year ago. I would like to learn crochet so I can do that in the truck when we travel.

My mother has done everything under the sun, I'm not even joking! (Knitting, crochet, crewel, lace, pulled thread, weaving on looms, rugs, cross stitch, and some other stuff I don't know what it's called... and that's just needle work)
I'm showing her how to quilt, she's just learning that now, but she teaches Bunka, also called japanese embroidery, or needle punch embroidery. It's BEAUTIFUL work, painstakingly long, but WOW. I used to make garments to wear until I discovered they never fit "right"....lol (not to mention fabric and pattern were so expensive I could have purchased garment ready made...)
I used to cross stitch but am now in love with redwork. I have two projects in the works which will become parts of quilts. It's great work to take along with you in the car or for waiting in doctor's offices and the like! |
I sew, quilt, do counted cross stitch, knit and crochet. It keeps me out of trouble.

Needlepoint, cross stitch, tatting, needle felting, and bobbin lace. Occasionally I sew clothes.
Baren*eh*ked - your mothers work is incredible! I can only imagine how long something like that would take. Very beautiful. |
