I have heard that mustard (plain yellow) was good for a burn. Just put some on as soon as you get a burn. Well, it certainly works!!! At least for me!!! I was putting some fries in the oven yesterday and my forearm touched the oven door. And boy was it hot!!! My arm was burning and I asked DD get some mustard from the fridge and put on my burn. It stung for a moment and then no more burn! It is only slightly tender today and luckily no blisters.
This was the first time I tried mustard and it will be my go-to remedy for minor burns. |
We just had a doctor on the news a few weeks ago advising never, ever put any food item on a burn. The risk of infection is too great.
I just heard about that about a year ago and it does work. I will never use anything else for burns. It's like a miracle.
Personally-I thank you for this information. Mustard is different than a food item such as butter-for years they used mustard plasters. A quick google indicates that a lot of people claim that it works.
maybe it's the vinegar in the mustard.
Never heard that old time remedy. I used my plant of aloe last burn I had a burn. No scarring. I used ice too.
I was amazed at how quickly the burn went away. I will always use it on minor burns.
I heard it works too.
Next time that happens to me I will try it out. |
And at times must be much easier than getting the injured part into a bag of flour!
