I did my kitchen a year and half ago and they still look great! Under the paint they are those ugly cream laminte counter tops...I also redid the cabinets two years ago using cabinet paint from our local paint shop. I did my entire kitchen cabinets and tops for a total of 120.00. That included new knobs of the cabinets. (I had to make holes in the cabinets since they did not have handles. I just redid my countertop in the bathroom since I love the stone look in my kitchen. It was only 14.00...looks good and I will spend the money that I saved from buying new countertops on something else...hmmm fabric...LOL - I have pictures on my blog. http://www.thriftyideastoday.com/ prep time and spray time...about 30 mins...I sprayed 3 coats of each

I've been wanting to re-do the counters in our bathrooms, they are formica, very bland. Will this method work on them? My B-I-L, who is a retired painter, is going to strip all the old, outdated wallpaper, so I'll wait until after he's done. thanks for your help.

Have you tried cleaning your cabinets, amyjo????? You will be surprised what will just wash off them! Be sure to find the kind of cleaning product that will not harm your cabinets.

@Julie: Yes...my old counter tops in the picture with the white cabinets were formica...we did that I think 5 years now...and we just replace with granite...but the painted one with the stone was awesome. The contractors could not believe how real they looked. I also put off the side piece on one and painted...it was awesome and should have done it on all of them it made the counter look even more real. good luck

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but every time I click on the link it takes me to a page with all sorts of remodeling information links. My countertops are awful and I would love to see what these painted ones look like. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
