My 1st upholstery work in 16 years
2 Attachment(s)
My granddaughter uses this vanity stool at her desk. Her Dad brought it out last week to weld a broken spot, and left it here on accident. So Grandma did her magic with the expert help of Grampa, he picked the fabric. Great job on it too!
The seat was so flat and hard, no padding to speak of. I added a piece of 2" inch foam to fluff it up. I repainted the metal frame in a glossy black. I haven't upholstered anything since I retired 16 years ago. Glad to see I still got it. Here are before and after photos: |
Wow, what a transformation. It's just too cute. She'll be shocked!
you go girl.......she will love it.
You did a great job, she won't recognize it! It's beautiful, and you're right, your DH did a good job of picking out the fabric.
Do you really think your son left it there "accidentally"....bet he hoped you would do this!! Good job on it!
LUV it! Thanks for sharing
You certainly worked your magic on that.
That stool make-over is the kind of thing that leads to a whole room make-over. What fun!
That looks so good!!! Great job all around.
Lovely and you haven't lost your touch!

Terrific transformation! :)
What a great transformation. I know she will really enjoy that padded seat. And to know that her grandparents did this for her will be the best gift she could get.
That's a beautiful transformation. What girl wouldn't love that makeover!

First let me say that is a beautiful job....an extremely difficult one at that with the chosen fabric...to pull that off with straight lines, no wrinkles, and a perfectly finished edging is a miracle indeed...Congrats....that said...be careful..it's terribly addicting..you start seeing projects everywhere you look and then you start thinking I could quilt the fabric and from there you are in deep trouble....LOL
Beautiful! Bet she'll love it.
Beautiful!! Love your choice of fabric -- the stool has really been transformed.

I am sure she will be pleased with the lovely transformation.
Great job! Glad she liked it but she might find something else that needs 'help'.
Very nice. Love the fabric.
Yep. You still got it! Very nice.
Beautiful job, so nicely finished. I'm glad she liked it, I would have been thrilled to bits.
Precious! Love it gramma.
Quilters frequently think that any other sewing is scut work, and not creative, but your photos show how creative "plain sewing" can be. Lovely job.
WOW, you did a fantastic job and your granddaughter will be pleased with your efforts.
