Well, it's new to me, anyway. I usually love the traditional Christmas carols. But this song - I think it's from late 70's/early 80's - really gets to the point. I love the lyrics which tell the Christmas story, and I love the joy that the Caribbean style of music gives to it.
The name is "Mary's Boy Child/ Oh, My Lord" by the group Boney M. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Merry Christmas, everyone! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxm1FlLSfe4 |
OH! I like this.
Have you listened to the song from Clay Aiken " Mary Did You Know" on you-tube??? several.. Sorry my cut and paste is messed up. |
I just love the Kathy Mattea Christmas CD, "Good News". Every song on it is wonderful!

I really enjoyed listening to this, thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas.
|
I also love this song done by Harry Belafonte (1950-something?), so it really is an oldie!
|
This is so lovely Hanna Jo, I'm replaying over. Blessings, Ruth

Hannajo, that was a beautiful rendition. Thanks so much for sharing this! Merry Christmas to you, too!
|
Oh, that is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
|
This is a favorite of mine also!

I loved this song when Harry Belafonte sang it! I haven't heard it for so long, Mom might still have the album it was on but no phonograph to play it on. Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
