I seem to be collecting roosters!!! Somehow, they're reproducing in my kitchen......and I've told myself to make them stop. However, yesterday we had a new one join our menagerie!! Did a little day trip to Sisters, Oregon (I think a lot of you know the place) and while wondering thru an antique shop, I found this guy.........I just LOVE him!!! and I HAD to share! He cost only $6.00 -- I don't believe he's antique...but I don't care.

Real cute I have never seen one like that I collect them too.

You and SIL Peggy are going to get along just fine when you meet!! She loves those chickens too, and will be disappointed that you found it before she did! ;)

I can see why you love him...he's very neat! :)

I love his looks, doesn't matter if he's old or not, just as long as you like him. I love roosters and all chickens.

Elly 04-25-2010 07:23 AM

I keep thinking toy, too....but he doesn't seem that old. Might be a "project for a bored husband"????? :)

Good find. It doesn't matter what you collect, as long as you're having fun doing it.

Junk and goodwill shops are such good places to find treasures. You just never know when you'll be lucky and find that special something. And it's an environmentally friendly way to collect too.

There must be at least one hen in your kitchen. LOL

Nice find.

I do, too. They are on my curtains, my wallpaper border, plates, salt and peppers, cups, clock, but not one of them makes a peep! Raised and had to dress out WAY too many of the things growing up. I like them in theory. In practice, I never want to deal with another live chicken.....ever.

I've done this before. I start collecting something that I didn't plan to--cats and birdhouses are my weaknesses.

So cute, I love roosters and chickens!

My Mother collected Chickens and my Dad collected Horses. You could find all kinds of horses back in the 50s and 60s, but no chickens hardly. We used to grab them up when we found them. Everytime I see a chicken or horse statue in a Thrift Shop I think of them. She would have loved the fabrics they have now.

He's great! Whimsical even. Nice catch. Nice price.

Hope he doesn't chase you around like our rooster does. I'm gonna wring his neck yet!
