How nice to see Rita in your avatar. Rita looks so concerned about the kitty. Did you know that white fur & blue eyes often indicate deafness? It's fairly common. We had a deaf heeler (in heelers it's the blue merles) and it worked out just fine. We taught Denham tons of signs in ASL and he did just great with them. In Australian Shepherds they have what is called "lethal whites" which is white fur & blue eyes and the dogs are both deaf and blind. For many years these dogs have been euthanized at birth. Now there is a rescue agency that finds good homes for these dogs and they are successfully adopted and trained. I think it's amazing. I was brave enough to adopt a deaf dog, but I am in awe of people who take the "letal whites" (what an awful name, don't you think?) I've spent time with them at rescue events and they are the sweetest, most loving dogs.

Oh thanks for all of the nice comments. Her cold is all better and her eyes have all cleared up, she just has a few tiny places on her ears that might have gotten frost bit a little but other than that she is doing great! She has even gained some weight and grown some. We did confirm that she is deaf, so my daughter bought her a little stretchy collar with a bell on it(good idea Ditter!) My heeler and her have become great friends and she is so careful with her it is almost like she knows she has to be extra careful with her. I was reading the board and saw Tink's Mom's avitar and mentioned the name to my daughter. Well it kind of stuck so her name is now Tink! I hope the original Tink doesn't mind lol. Oh and someone asked if she will stay an indoor kitty. Yes she will definately stay one. :)

Men tell those tales about no animals allowed in the house just as much as they say they don't like sweets and seldom eat them--just with every meal!!!

There's a special place in Heaven for them both for helping such a helpless baby. She is beautiful. My next cat will be a Manx. I have always wanted one.
