Here are a collection of various Needlepoint projects that I did a number of years ago when I lived out in California. I have always been enamored of William Morris, the British Design Maven, and wanted to do some things that he might have approved of. So I got some books and took up needlepoint. It was a fascinating hobby, but I filled up the house with pillows and ran out of room,(small house). I haven't done any more of it for about 20 years, but in gathering these pictures it has sparked an interest in revisiting this most wonderful pastime. If I can only get some 36 hour days, lined up, I might be able to get back into it.

Very nice! If your interested in William Morris - check out the applique quilt that few folks on the board are currently doing. One of them is Eddie, forgot who the other is. They've been posting pic's of the various blocks and theyr'e outstanding.

After seeind Eddie's first block I started looking up info on William Morris for general ideas and inspiration and found out the WM museum is just a few miles from my husbands house in England. I chastised him for allowing me to miss that one in our many trips - I'll definately be making a visit the next time we're there.

That is a wonderful museum to visit. We stopped in once When we were in london. We went back a couple of times later in the stay there, because I could not get enough of William Morris.

I used to do needlepoint all the time until a few years ago. The kits have gotten so expensive and I couldn't afford to do it anymore. But I still like to look at other's work. Thanks for sharing.

These are not kits, they are counted needlepoint in wool from a chart. Not nearly as expensive as the kits. I have some of Beth Russell's books which have the charts in them. That makes for a rather cost effective supply of a dozen or more charts to do.
