My new avatar

I know my new avatar looks much like my old but this is my new Baby, Merlyn, who joined us on Thursday from Atlanta. After I lost my previous Borzoi and avatar, Hunter, I was sure I could never fill the hole in my heart that he left when he went to the Bridge. A friend made this happen through her connections and he's quickly become a member of the family. He's 3 years old and all the puppy antics are behind him and he's a true gentleman and both DH and I love him and so does our cat as well. She was very lonely without her friend Hunter.

Thank you Ellen for all your help in making it possible for me to resize photo's, figure out how it all works, etc. I couldn't have done it without you. The people on this Board are the BEST!

Oh I am so happy to hear you have a new love in your life. Loosing one is so hard, and I totally understand how hard it is to believe that aching hole can ever be filled again. Your friend is wonderful. I too had a friend fill the hole left in my heart after loosing our 14 1/2 yr old lab. Only it was filled with a little pomeranian I thought I would hate-he is wonderful LOL. Congrats and enjoy your new family member!!!!

What a gorgeous new Fur-Baby! So glad the cat welcomed him into the family. Everybody needs somebody ... and it sounds like he's a perfect fit.

I learned years ago the pain of losing a pet is eased greatly by bringing home a new pet - a person falls in love very fast with the new "member of the family." Enjoy your new baby.

So glad you found a great friend. My answer is to always get another pet right away. A new pet helps to ease the pain of losing one. It never gets easier but, does take your mind off the lost one.
