We just found out last week that we are going to be grandparents! Our daughter Meghan and her husband Erich are expecting their first baby on August 23. It will be our first grandchild. I'm a little anxious for my daughter as she was born with a congenital heart defect and had corrective surgery at 2. We know she will need a valve replacement down the road and although she is considered high risk, the doctors feel she should have a healthy pregnancy. She will be under the care of her ob/gyn and cardiologist. They will monitor her closely, but never close enough for me. :)

Congratulations!!! I hope all goes well. For now, don't worry until you have something to worry about and just enjoy waiting for the new baby. Trust the doctors. They will monitor things carefully. Are you making a quilt, Grandma?
