I have collected Reindeer for about 30 years. Here is my reindeer herd! LOL
I couldn't find one bin so I know I have a few more. Maybe next year I will have them all out.

Murphy 12-20-2011 04:27 PM

An amazing herd (smile). Looks lovely in your home. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Kas This isn't even all of them. I know I have another bin with a couple of silver reindeer and I haven't found that bin yet. I also have some really big ones that are plant holders. I didn't put them out either. I also have a couple of flocked reindeer that need legs fixed.

thanks Sandee I put out most of them the first day I started on it. Then I put more out a day or so later and then I just putter with moving them and rearranging them and adding trees and such another day. It is fun to see them after they have been stored for a year. I actually have more but I never did track that bin down. I know there are a pair of silver reindeer and wrought iron sleigh and 6 iron reindeer somewhere. They will have to wait til next year. LOL I think they are under my bed but I just never did pull the bins out and look.

That is quite a collection. I didn't even put up a tree this year. Just found out that my family will be here on Saturday for lunch. No cooking for me. We are going to order pizzas and KFC (my Dad doesn't like pizza). We have had lots of crisis in family since the end of October, so we voted no presents and no work. It will be nice to just visit.

Hope no one thinks we are being scrooges. lol

Love this! Thanks for sharing! I have a Santa collection that's about that size- wouldn't it be fun to get them together?!

Arleners 12-21-2011 05:28 AM

That is some collection! As impressive as it is, I wouldn't want to be the one to dust them!

ShowMama 12-21-2011 07:15 AM

How wonderful! I love reindeer. Several years ago I started collecting them too, but my group is nowhere near what you have. You have many that are unique. A collection to be quite proud of!

My mom has a huge huge huge Santa collection. She is an antique collector so hers are all old and collectibles. She has been collecting for years. And people know this and give her Santas from time to time

My mom has been collecting for years and she gave me quite a few from her collection last year. The grouping of the large brown reindeer on top of the chicken coop is hers. We share alot of decor so they are still hers just staying with me for awhile! LOL She also bought me the reindeer that has boots and the one on the dresser that has skates and is inside a wire hoop. We have bought alot at yard sales and I love to find old flocked reindeer at yard sales or junk shops. It's something fun to look for that isn't a lot of money.

My mom has a set of Randy the reindeer and Rhonda the reindeer that are plush animals that lay on the back of her couch. I would love to find a set. She isn't ready to give hers up yet.

Back around 1910, my great-grandfather had a 500 head herd of reindeer before he packed up his family and moved to the US. My Mom totally loved seeing all your photos of your reindeer. Thanks for sharing!!

I have Rodney and Rhonda & Randy and Ramona also. Randy and Ramona are slightly smaller than Rodney and Rhonda. The tags says they're from Hallmark, 1986. They are draped over lampshades in the living room.

What a wonderful collection. I don't think anyone could do a better job of displaying them.
The trees are perfect with them, and I love the rustic look of some of your display items.
