Sheila Elaine

Jason is planning on going back to college next semester. He got home to late for the fall semester. He has a degree in Liberal Arts, so now he just has to decide what he wants to major in for the next 2 years. He is also thinking about the ROTC while in college. I too agree that the training helps them grow up, at least in Jason's case I hope so...He is in the National Guard, and they were told they would probably be deployed somewhere in the next year or so, but for the time being he is home and will have monthly drills. Graduation ceremonies are very impressive, and we were very happy to be able to attend. We went to our older son's graduation there also two years ago, he is in the Guard also.

Tarib, sorry I mixed Guards & Reserves up earlier. That's great that Jason has his first four years out of the way, now he can concentrate on what he wants to be when he grows up (just a little humor). ROTC would be tough in college, but I know several young men, who came out with rank of Captain. They had prior military service before attending college. I know the whole family is so proud of both your sons. I applaud all parents of service men & women. It takes a lot to raise children in today's society and everyone agrees that military personnel and their families are the most dedicated. I'm so glad Mrs. Obama has taken on military families as one of her interests, as First Lady.

My daughter went to college, then after she got married she joined the Air Force. She's an RN and was medically discharged, after she fell, injuring her back on a wet floor where there was no sign out. They now live in Marin County, California, which is just North of San Francisco. She works in the ICU at Marin General. We lived out there back in 70's, and they really like it.

My son has medical problems that would have kept him from being accepted into the military.
