It all started Thursday when we picked up the rental car (Chevy Malibu, much nicer than my Saturn). Then Friday we started our journey to Connecticut which is a 9 hr trip (for my niece's wedding of the century). It was a nightmare because my son does not want a) anyone in front of him (it seems they never drive the speed limit!) or b) anyone behind him (they are "driving on his a**!). I was never so glad to reach a destination in my life

Anyway, I was invited to the rehearsal dinner which was at the lovely Fairfield Museum. Lots of food (and drink, but not too much. I had to drive back to the hotel).

Saturday I decided I needed a manicure at one o'clock. The wedding was at two-thirty! Got the mani and got dressed in an hour and a half  The wedding was beautiful and the reception was over the top. It was held at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield. Lots and lots of good food and drink. Vans were sent to the hotel to take us there and bring us back. We left at about eleven and I guess the party finally broke up at two or three in the morning.

Yesterday we drove back. My son was too tired to drive so I did the deed. It was heaven! He slept all the way until we got to Ohio. No one to tell me to get in that lane, pass that idiot and on and on. It rained almost the whole way, but I just picked my lane and my speed and got back in 8 hrs!

I'm kind of tired, but my sister is exhausted! Poor thing, but she did a wonderful job of coordinating everything. A good time was had by all!!

I agree, he drives like my husband too. Sounds like the wedding itself was fantastic.

My DH drives like that and is always mad at the other drivers. Too old, too young, too fast, too slow, stop passing me, stop riding my butt, get out of the passing lane. I would love to pass out and wake up when we arrive. Love to drive all by myself to places! So restful!

I like how you gals picked up on the kid's driving! (He's not a kid...48 yrs old) The wedding was fantastic. I can hardly walk today, but I had a grreat time getting here!
