Now I know about the Erlene Fowler quilt themed mysteries & Monica Ferris cross stitch series. I've read a series of knitting themed mysteries. Today at Barnes & Noble I saw several more - and some were goofy! Crochet, Domestic Diva, DIY, plumbing!?, scrapbooking. I can't remember the others.
I guess 'they' have discovered people stick to stuff they know? I just got a big chuckle out of it. |
I recently finished The Knitting Circle and it was so good. The author is Ann Hood.

Are these books mystery or love story type. I like blood and guts...

The funniest mystery/lady books I've read in a long time were written by Ann George. The main characters are two southern sisters. The writer died a few years ago and only wrote 9 of these wonderful books. I also always look forward to the new Janet Evanovitch book each year.

The 1 I bought is titled 'Death by Cashmere' by Sally Goldenbaum, a Seaside Knitters Mystery. |
my favorite, Evonovich, Robyn Carr, Nora Roberts. Have read all of Chiverarina but the last two...too much repeat in each book, got bored. Blood cand Gore, Mariah Stewart, alot...

Thanks, I will check Mariah Stewart. I like James Patterson, Jon Kellerman, Patrica Cornwell that type. I listen to my MP3 player on free audiobooks from my local public library. Oh, and I love John Grishman. I don't do Steven King, I did real "Cell" which was gory but pretty good.

Laura Childs writes two series that are easy reads, yet with the mystery and intrigue that make them fun. (The Scrapbooking Series and the Indigo Tea Shop series.)
She has a new series, Cacklebery Club, that the library doesn't have yet. And I would rather wait to borrow it for free so I have extra cash to increase my fabric stash! |
I have 2 authors I love (besides Evonovich)
Diane Mott Davidson - has a catering business. Includes recipes -- example title: Sticks & Scones, Fatally Flakey Joanne Fluke -- has a bakery. Includes recipes (YUMMY ones) -- example title: Carrot Cake Murder, Candy Cane Murder (has the BEST recipe for cookies in this one). They're both murder mystery writers, easy reading, and the murders almost take 2nd place with the businesses. I recommend looking at their websites and starting with the first book. ENJOY! dee |
Thanks all of you for the suggestions of mystery writers. Can'y wait to check them out...
