Living in the mountains of eastern Oregon, we are often treated to wildlife that come down from the mountains on all sides of our town. Where I live, come deer, multiple amounts of squirrels, raccoons, a coyote or two if they have lost their way.. Today, setting on the deck, with homemade granola snack, my camera, and a good book, my squirrel friends decided to visit, and share my afternoon snack.. here are some photos of my visit.. hope you enjoy.

They are so cute untill they start digging up the yard to bury nuts!!

I have one of those and she won't let the others come around. I guess this is her yard and chases all the other squirrels off. Yours are so pretty.

Totally understand the frustration of thier digging, but they are alot better than our neighbors 4 cats.. where's the bb gun!! though I like cats, I do not like cats left outside to annoy the neigborhood , let alone having litter after litter!! grrr.. where's the big dogs!!

Cute pictures!

We have red squirrels, not gray. We accidently caught one in a pack rat trap and it lost a front leg but survived so we named it Tripod. While I enjoy watching them, I like them to stay further away from the house or I am reminded that they are really rodents by what they leave behind.
We had an albino squirrel. It lived two years that we know of, and raised a litter. The biologists at the university said it was a rare thing.

awesome about the albino.. that would be a beautiful photo I would think.. And yes, we try to not touch ( and successfully ) anything that they come into contact with outside - gloves when washing down the deck, ect..

The squirrels and other critters like to visit our deck as well. One fall we had pumpkins out and they ate the tops off and would get inside the pumpkin to eat...it was fun to watch them pop up and down inside the pumpkin. I find watching the wildlife is very peaceful and entertaining!!!
