I put one of those adhesive-backed name tags on a challis shirt, and I can't get the adhesive off. Normal washing & Shout! didn't work. I've tried scraping with my fingernail and a credit card. Help!!!

Hairspray may work :D:D:D

What type of fabric?
WD40 will work but you also have an oil residual that only Dawn dish soap works to get oil stains out for me to remove. |
Test a small amount of lighter fluid to make sure it won't take color out of fabric. I use lighter fluid to remove adhesive from labels stuck on book covers, so I'm not sure if it will take color out of fabric.

try goo-be-gon it will take a lit of sticky things off, very good for taking off lables

Not sure if it will work at this point, but normally to remove adhesive tags I heat them first with a hair dryer. Heat softens most adhesives so it becomes easier to remove. If there is only a little adhesive left, though, this will not work; it works best when the paper is still attached.

if everything else fails, I've read that rubbing alcohol will take adhesive off.

Thanks for the fast responses! I didn't have Goo gone on hand, so I tried alcohol, and it worked!
