I know I shouldn't have waited til the night before to try on my dress, I didn't realize I had gained that much weight in a year. The shirtwaist is what is too small, so what about just a white cotton blouse with button front and collar, with my sage green skirt that still fits okay? I don't want the civil war police to get me and you know they're out there! Lol

If Scarlett (sp?) can wear drapes you can ware whatever you have. The women of old had to "make do" too.

Button it up to the neck and put a pretty pin at the throat or velvet ribbon with the pin and you will be in style.

If you're too concerned about it or once you get it on you think it won't work take a piece of CW fabric and make a lightweight shawl to go over it.
