I had always been very focused and detail oriented until menopause hit and now I can't seem to get to the bathroom without a hall pass. I have two adult sons that have had ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) since they were children and they just laugh and say "welcome to the club". It drives me NUTS! By the end of the day I am exhausted but don't feel like I get anything completed. Often I feel like I just start another project and then have more to do the next day. We have scaled down our home and gotten rid of a lot of stuff I know I will never get to but have kept the quilting supplies as that is my main interest. I think we still have way more than we need and I would love to dispense with more of it. Time to have a yard sale I think. Ann in TN

Exercise. Get out for a walk every day. It calms the mind.

My house is a mess right now. Now that I'm into quilting and lessons, I can't get into cleaning. When I do, I make a schedule of which rooms get done on a certain day. I set the timer for about an hour and when it goes off I see how much I've gotten done. When my chores for that day are done, I put the cleaning supplies away and go back to reading about quilting or attempting to piece something.

LOL, well, I'm a Perfectionist with a Type A personality...always have been. Kinda had myself retrained since I became disabled to not let things bother me. Hmmm, that's not working anymore!! And I have family that just doesn't understand when they come over why everything is a mess...notwithstanding that I have my grandbabies a couple of times a week!! I just want someone to come go thru my house and throw things out! Basically let me start over. I just look around, make lists and then I get so tired, I just give up. :(

What's wrong with a little bit of flitting? I flit all the time. I'll start one thing and then be-bop right around the corner and start somethingelse. I've always flitted!! So why quit now??/

I'm not saying give up the internet completely, but maybe set aside a certain amount of time per day and stick to it? I also try to unplug at least one day a week. I don't go online at all unless it's necessary for work.

I jump from one thing to another and thought I was the only one. I do have to say however... that our internet was down one whole day last week. It drove me nuts but I organized all my clothes that were going to the Goodwill. I guess I have an internet addiction!

No really helpful suggestions that someone else hasn't already posted, but like so many who have responded, I have the same problem. I think, though, that some of it comes from simply having too much to do. All these things distract you because they all need to be dealt with and no one else is going to do it if you don't. My biggest problem is that I find it hard to carve out time to do the things I really like doing because I never really finish with the routine maintenance stuff.

Welcome to my world. Boy, I did not know that so many people were in my boat. I have fibromyalgia and just blame it on the fog and meds I take. I am amazed that I have so much company. It is somewhat comforting. I used to be so productive and accomplished a lot. I believe it is mind overload...so much to do so you don't get anything done. If anyone knows the cure, please share.

We could be twins! And I don't think there is a cure for us. I also have Fibro and between changing meds all the time and dealing with the pain and Fibro Fog, I just walk around in a daze. :(
