Need Help with Husq. Viking 936 Serger

For some unknown reason, I cannot remove the free arm cover in order to clean lint from inside. Info in manual can be seen here:

http://manuals.husqvarnaviking.com/VSM/Husqvarna%20Viking/HVManual.nsf/1fd5659e6f37141041256697003e64c0/de210fba65cb0805852575ed0070df04/$FILE/Huskylock_936_manual_EN.pdf

How to remove the free arm cover:(page 8)

1. Lift it up to release the clamps.
2. Pull it to the left.

I know I've removed it before but it won't budge this time. Also can't get into my yahoo account to ask help from that group.

I don't have one, but I did find the following video manual for your serger on Youtube. This Youtube video is over an hour long, but perhaps they show how to remove the free arm cover:

Thanks Prism99 -- guess I'll have to take the time and search in that video. Maybe I'm just weak in my old age!

I have the 910 and that cover is a bugger to remove. I just played with mine and I turned the end of the serger to face me. I held onto the left side of the machine and with my right hand I lifted on the front of the cover and pulled it off. It took a good tug but it came off and I put it on again and did the same thing. Can't say it gets any easier.

MarleneC -- I finally took your advise and a giant tug finally made it come off. I'm always afraid I'll break something but sometimes it pays to throw caution to the wind.

Grocifer--so glad you were able to get it off. I know you tug and are afraid something will break. After I did it a couple times it seems to come off easier. Now I need to take it off again and clean the area.

I have this serger. Try sliding the front cover a little to the right and down to the right when trying to release it. I think it has a spring in the cover which might have to be released. If that does not work, I will get mine out and check it out. Good luck.
