Washungton state and Oregon are beautiful places to visit and lots of fun things to do
|
Well, if you ever do decide to go river rafting, Moab, UT is a great place to do it! I did it years ago with 20 other people, and it was a blast. It was a two day trip where the guides did the cooking and we stayed in tents along the river.

Why not visit Yellowstone ,Grand Teton, and Glacier National Parks? They are spectacular.

Well... good for you, glad you came up with a destination. Certainly isn't any place on my radar of places to visit, but that's what makes this world a great place to live in, choices! Have fun!

You could do unusual name places...like Possum Trot :). There's tons of unique names.

That was going to be my suggestion....I lived there for 18 years and loved it. They also have a great museum and of course, you'll want to visit Beale Street...and drop down to Tunica, Mississippi for some recreation time if you're so inclined! Don't know about quilt shops...they used to have at least one, but I don't know what they have now...

Oh, I just came up with a really good idea. I'm going to Graceland, Graceland, Memphis, Tennessee, I'm going to Graceland.
Thanks for your help everyone. |
If you are driving, stop at Natchez and see the marvelous old antebellum architecture. Living in Arkansas, I have been to Memphis (not Graceland) and the river road casinos. There are enough to keep one entertained. Memphis hosted the Gee's Bend quilts one year, another year we saw the The Czars exhibit.. There is always something showing at the Pyramid. Is it August when so many converge at Graceland? Have a great vacation!!

Lots of interesting & beautiful sites in Utah. Washington & Oregon had much to offer. Pennsylvania has lots of history.
|
There is so much todo in Michigan. Mackinaw Island, Petosky, Traverse City, Frankenmuth, Greenfield Village. And along the way there are many quilt stores. I put together a powerpoint of MI quilt stores for my guild. They loved it. Wherever you went in MI you could find somewhere close to stop in a LSQ. Good luck on your decision.

I was going to suggest going to see Niagara Falls but not sure you would do that since going to NYC already. I love Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire and Cape Cod. Alaska is wonderful too!! That's the "USA". I lived there for 14 yrs. and it has a LOT to offer.
