Closet is 22" deep X 64" wide with bi-fold doors. ALL suggestions and pics would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you all for your help! |
I'm almost done with a major overhaul of my sewing room. I will take pics soon.
One thing I did several years ago was take the doors off the closet. It's strictly a sewing room so for me that worked well (I don't know what your room is) I made little bolts for large pieces and clear plastic boxes for fq's, half-yards, etc. It's coming along well but I'm not finished. Hope by the end of the week! |
Thanks!

I had to remove the doors, too. Then added shelves and have a small chest/drawers next to them. I just folded and stacked my fabric.

Forgot to mention the shelves. Yes, my DH made me shelves as well.

Here's another vote for removing the doors. They were just always in the way and having them open and being able to see my stash was inspirational. It made the room seem bigger too.

Yes, I have removed the doors. I am using Sterlite plastic storage units. They are 3 drawers high with the option of of putting wheels on them (which I have not), I have them stacked 2 units high and 4 units wide in a standard bedroom closet.

I have my fabric wraped on 8x12 plastic or cardboard boards (1 Yard WOF or more), stored in an old china hutch with glass doors so I can see it. but keeps the dust out. 1 yard WOF and under are on 4x7 boards and anything small than 1/4 WOF is stored in clear plastic bins. I have to keep everything covered here the wind blows constantly and we live in a very dry area out in the country.
