Replaced the Maytag washer and dryer with the Whirlpool waher, Duet model. Maytag developed a leak that, cost almost as new washer. I am happy with Whirlpool. Cleans good.
It is better to us the HD detergent in front loaders, it is designed to used less per load. To keep the mold from getting into washer leave the door open. I purchase appliances from local appliance store, owner told me that Maytag is not the same product is used to be. Also, local store service is the best. Local store has trained tech when help is need. |
When I lived at my other house I had a Maytag top loader that my husband picked out when I was working full time. That thing tied socks, bras, panties in knots. My husband used to hang the stuff on the line knots and all. It ruined my underwear faster than I could buy it. I then told my husband I would do my own laundry, thinking it was something he was doing; still tied it in knots for me too. Now I have a Kenmore that I bought when I moved here 12 years ago. My DIL's brother is a washer repairman and replaced the pump once, and another part; told me not to buy another washer till he told me to. He doesn't recommend the front loaders because they have a lot of electronic problems, and gasket problems. And the Sears repairman that was here 2 weeks ago for my refrigerator said the same thing. He also said to never get a new appliance without getting an extended warranty. He says the new appliances, any kind, just don't hold up anymore.

I have the maytag neptune and it is a top loader. love it....front loaders also do not let you open it up after locking so youcan pop in that shirt that the pup just ran down the hall with. lol

Just have to add that my Maytag front loader will let you add items but not too far into the cycle. It will open in just a few seconds, not two minutes as someone else said about her machine. I'm sure they all have different settings, kind of like us! LOL! |
Been in my new home 3 years now and got a top loader Maytag. Now since I am starting to quilt again I was regreting not buying a front loader. But...now I feel better with my decision after reading all of the negatives about the front loader machines! :-P Just wanted to say...

Love my work horse Sears Kenmore about 25 years old but works like a charm.

We have an LG front load washer (and matching steam dryer) and love them! My old front-load walked all over the floor, no matter how much we tried to balance it!
