Need suggestions about Granite sink

Hi, I am a newbie. I am looking for a granite sink. I want to know the pros and cons of a granite sink. Can someone recommend me one? Thanks

I live in the "Granite Center of the World," Barre, VT, and I don't know anyone who has a granite sink. But I had a granite countertop in my old house. It was great for rolling out pie/cookie dough, but it did stain a bit. It was sealed to help with that, but I noticed some areas that got slightly stained anyway. I should think a sink would be more vulnerable to stains if you're washing dishes all the time.

Just a thought, but why are you on a quilting forum and your first question is to ask about a sink?

I was wondering why a newbie quilter would ask about a sink. LOL My suggestion for Tom Brown would be go post on a sink forum.

DOn't know about granite sinks but I went with a soapstone sink in white no less. I've changed out sinks twice in this house but kept the 1st soapstone sink and moved it to my basement kitchenette cause I love it so much. True white sinks get stained but with soapstone I can use just about anything to clean it with no problems. I can during the Fall time so you know it's going to get stained from tomatoes, berries, etc so I wait till I'm done with canning and then I spray a mixture of bleach and water on to the sink, walk away and do something else and then come back anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes later and finish scrubbing it. Love my soapstone sink.

Most granite sinks are granite composite. My son has two and he absolutely loves them. He has the black ones, he said Lowes and Home Depot carries them. He suggests you look it over really good for small hairline cracks before it's installed because they can crack during shipping. He had that happen with one.
