Mr Clean Magic Erasers with any cleaner works wonders for me! I generally use vinegar and blue Dawn mixed toether for everything. I have used the generic magic erasers too and they work.

Cleaning showers is my least favorite thing.... :( We live in a hard water area and it's nasty. When we had the house built, the designer wanted to put in those nice pretty glass doors on the showers. I knew that would be a nightmare with the mineralization in the water, so I said no. I went with a good old-fashioned shower liner that I could throw in the washing machine and bleach.
I still have to do the walls. The best advice I have is to do it frequently. If it never builds up it never becomes a big chore. |
Baking soda dry on a slightly, slightly damp sponge. Takes a little rubbing, but it will take it off. It also works on pans, etc.

My HB saw on TV from the queen of Clean to use half dawn and half vinegar and sprayed it on the glass and use one of those green scrubbers. Let it sit fifteen minutes if it is tough stains. It cleaned the glass real nice. He has not used on the shower its self yet. It worked real good on the glass.

i use Bar Keeper's friend and the flat green scrubbers you find with the dish soap. I went to the auto parts store and bought a cheap window squeegie that stays in the shower. When I turn the water off I squeegie off the walls and tub. I have to clean the shower maybe once a month now. I use Method All Purpose Cleaner, Grapefruit smell. I spray it on before I take a shower and then squeegie before I get out. We have a terrible problem with pink slime in our water and the squeegie takes care of that problem too.
Here's an article I found when I was looking for this answer. They divided the shower door into four parts and used it as a science experiment! http://blog.timesunion.com/homeresto...a-winner/2804/ |
Use plain white vinegar on a regular basis instead of harsh chemicals.

Whatever you use .... make sure it is "safe" for the surfaces in your tub.
The wrong chemical composition, could damage the tub/shower. Sometimes I rub on a paste of baking soda, then spritz it with vinegar. Bubble, bubble toil and trouble ...... and then do some gentle rubbing and a wipe down. Of course ... a lot depends on how much build up you are dealing with! :) |
how about baking soda,
i just got a cleaning lady to take care of it. |
MrClean magic erasers can scratch so be careful if you use that.

I spray my shower down when I'm done with a mixture of Stain Solver and water. Stain Solver is an oxygen bleach the cleans up the grout and tile and seems to keep my shower really nice.
I haven't tried it yet, but I have to agree that Mr Clean Magic Erasers are awesome for cleaning most things. |
