I went to a sale today and I bought a monstrous box of zippers for very little. If you need zippers let me know I will be happy to send you some.

Have you seen embellishments made of zippers? We had a speaker at guild once who used them and it was spectacular. Sure wish I could remember who it was, and I did not have my camera and did NOT take a picture! Maybe someone on this board has some examples!? :?

kwhite 05-23-2009 02:07 PM

Yeah I would like to see that.

pocoellie 05-23-2009 02:24 PM

Shemjo-don't tell me that, I just sold probably 150 zippers in my yard sale. I just didn't have the room and since I don't sew as many clothes as I used too, I decided to yard sale them, I did keep the 7" and 9" ones for maybe purses or something.

kwhite 05-23-2009 02:25 PM

pocoellie sorry to hear that. If you decide to make a zipper quilt let me know. LOL

kwhite 05-23-2009 02:32 PM

Yes the Drama Program director makes the kids make them to learn how to sew a button and zipper and snaps and such.

Cathe 05-23-2009 02:33 PM

I can always use zippers!! :D

I can send you shipping costs by paypal.

Once, many eons ago, I made a quiet book and used a zipper for the teeth on a crocodile. The book was mostly tactile, things to touch/feel.

Zippers are great for any kind of purse -- and the wilder the color the better!

kwhite 05-23-2009 03:56 PM

Sewjoyce I have some wild colors. Want some?

I received the following in exchange for zippers. How nice was that? Thanks Sewjoyce. I guess I have no reason not to make another set of B&W for the exchange now do I?

yuppers, I saw that skeat. I don't bother with zippers much...
I like to be able to dig in my purse at a
moments notice, sew no zipper. :)
I can't zip my pants anymore.
I never did learn how to zip my mouth.

I am always in need of zippers. I do alterations (along with quilting :) )) Do you still have any, and how much are you asking?
